It’s been a pretty long time underway, but it is finally possible to import public repositories in Bitboard. What prevented it before was an unfortunate design decision requiring all repository members to be added as a member to a board when importing. And to make matters worse, only board members could author issues, comments and be assigned as responsible on an issue. This was very limiting because it prevented importing repositories where one of the following was true:
- A prior member of a repo had authored an issue, comment or pull request
- A bitbucket account not associated with the repo had authored an issue, comment or pull request
It also meant that removing a board member would break a board because items were tied to a member. It was stupid, to be honest, but that is just what happens when building software products. I have now fixed it, so board members are not tied to the content of a board. So everything should be better now.
